I believe in a constructivist approach to learning where students have the cognitive tools to learn skills and they just need guidance and opportunities to practice. I aim to give students more time to meaningfully practice academic skills with someone to guide them through the process. I also look to promote and build other skills such as critical thinking and problem solving through my teaching. When I interact with students, I talk to them as if I were having a conversation and always make sure to meet them on their level.
