I like to help students make those connections by using analogies and references to music, pop culture and real world situations. I believe students connect with teachers who try to understand them as individuals and use their own experiences to make connections with students.     My experiences as a special education teacher have allowed me to develop multiple strategies and techniques that help me individualize instruction.  I spend my free time outside as much as possible.  I enjoy hiking, gardening and taking care of animals.  When it's cold or rainy,  I prefer to be inside reading a book.
