I am a science teacher. I believe in learning through reading and hands on learning. Doing projects and experiments. I live on a lake in the Turtle Mountains of North Dakota. I am seventy one years old. How does someone so old have only three years of teaching experience? When I earned my first degree, there were no jobs in geology, so I trained to be a locomotive engineer. When I finished my teaching requirements I found out that I was earning four times what a science teacher made, so I could not make the move. By that time, I had a family to support. I had to wait to retire from the railroad before I could teach. I have three sailboats, two canoes, two kayaks and a fishing boat, so I spend a lot of time on the water in the summer. In the winter I catch up on my reading and do a little fishing through the ice. I also spend time in my garage building wood strip canoes for anyone that wants one. My kids all have one.

Teaching Specialization

Three years teaching broad field science grades 7-12.
